The Grand hustle rapper, clad in a white tee that read "Ice Cream" and black Air Jordans, performed many of his hits from the past year. Except for a few interludes dedicated to "fake gangsta rappers" that many figured were aimed at Shawty Lo, T.I. kept the momentum set off by Luda and Jeezy, rocking songs from "PSA" to "Swing Ya Rag" to "What's Up, What's Happenin'."

"Jay-Z is like a jedi!" Khaled exclaimed. "He just knows when to make his moves and when to do something. And Jay-Z felt like I deserved the verse. I really appreciated that they believe in me!

"I was pretty much an open book on ['Idol'], and that's how I am. For me, I take music really seriously — the stuff that I write definitely comes from a serious place — but I don't really take myself all that seriously," he said.
